Last few weeks have been interesting to say a little. I helped a good friend moving from one house to another, and we had a tiny accident involving an armoire and my right ankle. I was out of it for a bit, but I wish I could have saved those sick days from work.
I have come to realize recently, that I see the need of an iPad 2. Everyone of my friends seems to have decided that they could not live without one, and now they have them. I have seen so many apps with great functionality, that I am officially jealous. Also, a certain individual put me on a mailing list for ebooks that has been bombarding me with iPad howto’s and so on. Enough of that… I’m making myself think on it even more!
After the recovery of my ankle, I started back on P90X again this past week. I have decided that I was going to complete the 1st X, and then I would get P90X2 as soon as it’s out. It’s kind of like watching all the harry potter’s before the next movie come out. I was at Barnes and Noble today and noticed in the Tony’s new book “Bring It”. I did get into it for about 1o minutes and really thought about purchasing it, but it was $30 bucks… I was just not ready to lay down the green for it. Probably will wait until the price comes down just a little.
I’m ready to drop a few pounds and support a few of my buddies on their weight loss goals!

I’ve been looking recently to pump up my workout intensity a bit, so I needed a new gadget for my tunes. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the iPod Nano was the answer. I have to say I do appreciate how readily you can find good merchandise on Craig’s list, and that I have friends that value the almight greenback. You know who you are, and I thank you! I’ve been making playlists of some of my favorite tracks, and its brought that intensity back. I was using the iPhone for a while, but having it strapped to my arm was sometimes cumbersome and didn’t fit the holster very well. The Nano, which I named “El Nano”, can clip anywhere you want and is hardly noticeable. Built in pedometer, am/fm radio tuner, pictures, and iTunes tagging make it awesome. Did I mention that I got the 16 Gb version for $100??? He he ….
So I also have a friend whose mom is Korean, and she made the best sushi roll ever… the ingredient were the rice, meat, cucumber, and pickled radish I believe, and they were sooooooo good…. I have convinced myself that I am going to learn how to make sushi rolls myself… I’m going to start small with cooking the rice, and learning how to roll up the nori. Technique first, then I’ll get to the fillers. I think I could pull off a California roll or two, then move on to the more difficult of a selection. I’m sure there are a few youtube videos I can find on the subject at hand.

Well I’ve been at the book store a great deal recently. A friend of mine decided to be generous with one of his premium member coupons, and now I’m a premium member myself ! Ha ahahha… I started off just looking for some light reading material, but I then found myself with 3 books, a new membership, and a large coffee. Needless to say, I’ve abandoned my Barnes and Noble loyalties, and have a new coffee shop.
The books I bought: Linux+ comptia cert, php5 handbook, and Network+ comptia cert. The linux+ was a just on a whim, but I really believe I’m going to get my buddy to do the cert with me. Yeah, I know he’s already got linux under his thumb, but I’m going to get him in it anyways! Network+ is for work purposes, and I don’t believe there will be too much new to learn since school. I do need a refresher really bad, so this’ll be good.
BTW, what is the dealio with the comptia certs only being good for a few years? Didn’t they used to offer life time memberships once you passed it the first time? Maybe I’m delusional, but they must not be getting as much dinero as they used to. IDK?
PHP, well, I’m a slacker at this one… I get all the basics of the language, get all psyched up, and then forget about it for a while. Well, this new little book is more like a pocket guide to most of what I’ve already covered.
Kindle Book Purchase: Programming SQL – looks like I joined a Tuesday Thursday class at work with the intent on furthering my DB knowledge. Hope we keep it up
–> Side note, the kindle app for PC, kindle app for iPhone, and Kindle itself all friggin rock! I just wanted to say that. The kindle is the serious device for those who just want to read. Period.
Bout wraps it up! Ciao!

Here’s a pic of what my car kinda looks like… Unfortunately, the owner before me butchered the hood with a bad crome grill, but I will be making amends. More to come
I have a few more issues to overcome such as the interior light switch is broke, meaning I can’t see my gauges a noche. Who knows how fast I’m going ~.~ One good thing too, my girl loves the car so much that she is already looking at parts for me! Yeah, let me repeat, looking up P A R T S for me …. Everybody loves a stang, what can I say?
Working on a new piece for piano this week, and I would have never suspected it to be difficult. John Thompson has a way of really teaching you something new every time you open one of his books, and it really can be a challenge. For a song’s description to include the word “Grave” and to be written in a time signature that seems fit for a funeral, I found it hard to keep the right count in the beginning. This one of the few time where “feeling” the music is so apparently necessary that one cannot help but get into that dark mood. History behind it is curious as well. After this 3 page monster, it is amusing to discover the next selection if from Hansel and Gretel… go figure he he ^.^

Who knew he had a darker side?
Just got done with some with lunch. It started out just my soup, and then I realized had a left over hot dog in the fridge… Then, one of my co-workers decided on getting BALI HI!!!! Needless to say, I’m STUFFED !!!!

As of approximately 3 weeks ago, I switched http://robbiesworld.net’s main server to Thrust VPS (AKA DamnVPS), and am pleasantly surprised of the great value for the little bit of money. After setting up a simple recurring payment through paypal -very convenient- and linking up amazon’s s3, things are looking pretty spiffy! Hopefully I will be developing a few other features coming soon, but some of my recent endeavors (mainly setting up a stable moodle) have miserably failed… but alas, I will try, fail, then try again.
I would like to utilize moodle for training for our choir members, but not sure about how involved I want to get with the actual training. I believe that I will make the basics of music available to those who would like to reference robbiesworld, so getting more familiar with the admin portion of moodle is a must. For now, just getting it working on robbiesworld will suffice ^.^
The wiki portion is up and running, and I’m and completely satisfied with the outcome! I have been outlining and starting to plan it’s development, and in it infancy I have found a common theme… I have absolutely no entries for Windows, but have not run out of ideas for the Linux portion??? Go figure… Regardless, wikifying things has proven a great documentation tool, and I will continue to utilize it to my advantage! Getting on to bed, but leaving a disheartening thought… iPhone 3G is on the fritz, and I’m not a happy camper
My wifi radio I believe is completely gone, and yes I have performed all of the troubleshooting techniques to no avail…. iPhone 4 here I come?
